Tucson, Arizona based Hip Hop Rap artist KID AKUMA is more like a beautiful dream than a nightmare. His latest Trap style beat is one of the most pensive pieces of Urban music I’ve ever had the pleasure of stumbling across. His uniquely raw sound is dark, yet but so uplifting at the same time, to put it simply, his lyrical flow pertains a tsunami of emotion that hits you like the full force of a waterfall. The main criticism I have when it comes to Rap artist is the superficiality that artists tend to skirt around, but KID AKUMA’s latest track BiPolaR produced by PharaohVice is one of the realest sounds I’ve heard put out there to date. It’s a dark rendition which serves as a window to his soul; “I just want to kill my thoughts” & “I think I just lost my soul” are lyrics that stick with you long after the track fades out, even Scroobius Pip doesn’t get this deep. Perhaps what I love most about this track is the fact that KID AKUMA doesn’t try to hide behind any grandiosity or ego, it’s brutal honesty, that you definitely don’t want to miss out on.
