“Cinnamon” is the latest track from Texas-based Hip Hop Rap artist Khaki who has made quite the reputation for themselves in creating spacey, wavy, good vibes Hip Hop.
Their ability to orchestrate sharp lyrical hooks which sit in perfect synergy with light and dexterous soundscapes is noticeable in all of Khaki’s earlier mixes, yet, with Cinnamon, it’s more than evident that their sound has come a long way in recent years. The verses may run a little too fast to keep up with the lyrics, but that’s just all the more reason to hit repeat and ensure that you’re fully appreciating Khaki’s lyrical ingenuity.
The multi-layered mix blends Old School beats with more contemporary Trap effects while keeping Cinnamon melodiously light, so much so that it almost veers off into the Dream Wave genre, yet Khaki’s versing remains commanding right up to the fade-out.
