Up and coming UK-based Pop Rock artist James Martin released their latest single “Let It Grow” on July 2nd, 2019 treating listeners to a soulful vintage soundscape which comes complete with a psychedelically rhythmic kick.
While Let It Grow may carry some archaic inclination, the single still carries plenty of commercial appeal – it stands as a testament to the fact that guitar music still has plenty to offer listeners looking for accessibility alongside authenticity. As long as there are artists such as James Merlin orchestrating soundscapes which bleed melodious catharsis, all hope cannot be lost. As much as I appreciated the honeyed inviting tonality of Let It Grow, the bridges felt slightly extended, which may be due to the repetition of the track’s title. Yet, James Merlin has still proven that he’s got nostalgic Pop Rock down to a fine art with Let it Grow.
