The evocatively visceral weight in Jake Gino’s recently released single “A Song” dropped on me right from the prelude. Minor piano keys may often play havoc with my emotions, but in A Song there was plenty more than just striking tones in absorbing melodies.
The title may seem uninspired, but once you hit play, you’ll realise that Jake Gino has a tendency not to complicate his sound. Instead, they put sentiment and soul the centrepiece of the soundscape and allow the instrumentals to become aural manifestations of connectable emotion.
If you’ve ever battled with feelings of self-doubt or feeling like nothing you ever do is quite good enough, you’re sure to find resonance within A Song.
