Is there any sound which gets you more pumped for the Summer than Progressive House? Probably not, which is why it was the perfect time for up and coming Catawba, US-based artist J Shane to drop the first of his tracks. You can expect a much heavier track than your average Prog House hit.
The instrumental mix runs through with little need of vocals as the beats are more than enough to keep feeling the rhythm of Flying. While the intro seemed to be slightly drawn out to the single, once you were in the safe confines of the bridge, it was easy to share in the anthemic hype from which the mix was born. There was also slightly too much feedback coming from the basslines, which made it slightly hard to listen to at high volume, the production also slightly took away from the intricacy of the single. Yet, as seminal work from a new producer goes J Shane still shows a lot of promise with his approach to Progressive House.
