Many people have recently lost faith in guitar-driven music under the assumption that there are no new directions to take it. Yet, up and coming Manchester-based artist Heavy Salad found the perfect way around this with their latest single “Battery Acid” which takes the sterility and swagger out of Rock and infuses wholesomely quaint cosmic Psychedelia in its place.
Even before the first verse has unfolded, you’re left with the fuzzy feeling of adoration for the endearing soundscape and its talented creators. While you wouldn’t expect a track titled Battery Acid to offer celestially uplifting energy, there’s plenty to be found within the unforgettably vibrant soundscape. I can only assume that this is what the Manic Street Preachers would sound more like if they dabbled with LSD.
