Whilst the emerging Indie act don’t take themselves seriously, the same can’t be said for the rhythmically harmonious Blues Rock anthems. Their latest single Rabbit’s Got the Gun has all of the low down and dirty ethereal sounds that you’d expect from an Americana track. The complexity in the guitar chord progressions would put Johnny Marr to shame whilst the vocals are gloriously gruff, filthily soulful and ethereally immersive.
There isn’t a flaw to be found in Rabbit’s Got the Gun. The North Carolina 4-piece powerhouse of talent have an undoubtedly refined sound which has minimal reminiscence to any other act on the scene to date. As you can imagine from a track name such as a Rabbit’s Got the Gun the lyrics are genius. The narrative style of the bands lyricism creates an amiable edge to their sound which almost translates to be playfully nihilistic but more importantly, the lyrics are like nothing I’ve ever heard before. Which is what every band should strive to achieve. Sure, you can write the same old love songs, but who is really listening anymore?
