Eleven is the latest futuristically fresh offering of Hip Hop from the up and coming recording artist Gud Cyrus, it’s safe to say that the Toronto based rapper didn’t stick to archetypal methods when he constructed Eleven. The Trap beats use kicks of the 808’s as a solid background but the wavy synth bleeds all over the track creating an electrically euphoric aura which swamps the mix. In the midst of the futurism there is also a slight hint of nostalgia, making Eleven as paradoxical as it is compelling. Due to the mid tempo, you’re not over-faced by the aggression in the music as you would be with many Hip Hop tracks making Eleven the perfect track to kick back to.
Sitting above the beats is Gud Cyrus’ rap bars which get switched up throughout the progression of the track with his offering of R&B Pop vocals. Whilst it was hard to fully understand the concept behind the track when it came to the lyricism, that hardly impedes the alchemy that Gud Cyrus cooked up with a little help from producer Bijan Amir.
