I’ll be honest, from an Alt Rock band named Take the Black, I was kinda hoping for a Game of Thrones themed band. But, when I checked out their single Alive in the Moonlight they didn’t fail to impress me with their non-Game of Thrones related soundscapes.
The single from their latest album War for Your Mind is guaranteed to appeal to fans of Van Halen and R.E.M alike thanks to the band’s bouncy yet riff-driven style with accessibly sweet vocals. The intro fools you into believing you’re in for a Classic Rock progression, yet by the time the chorus hits you’re treated to one of the punchiest, sticky melodies that you can’t help getting caught in. What’s more, the production is absolutely stunning, with their already radio-ready sound I wouldn’t say it’s going to be long before we hear a lot more from Take the Black.
You can check out Alive in the Moonlight and the rest of their diversely enthralling studio album for yourself by heading over to SoundCloud.
