Straight from the first chord of Fort Defiance’s debut track The Haunts of Youth pulls at the heartstrings so succinctly. I’m not sure how they managed to pour so much pensive melancholy into just one track to make The Haunts of Youth one of the most beautifully harrowing sounds I’ve ever heard. Fort Defiance are Nashville, Tennessee duo that have developed quite the reputation for their raw style, ethereal harmonies and high energy live performance. Together Jordan Eastman & Laurel Lane make one of the beautiful Indie Folk duos with their palpable passion and pretty seductive sounds not too similar from the heart wrenching duo between Glenn Hansard & Marketa Irglova. The two joined forces back in 2014 and played over 250 shows in their first year keeping to their pure, grassroots sound, no matter how much notoriety and admiration came pouring in.
The Haunts of Youth was the couple’s debut track which was released in 2017, I can’t wait to see what they have in store for 2018. You can check out the beautiful video to The Haunts of Youth on YouTube now:
