Whilst the prelude to Fabriq’s latest single “Serotonin” may fool you into believing you’re in store for a progression of archetypal nostalgically-driven Synth Pop, the instrumental hook to the track is more than enough to change your mind. And with vocals that could give Adam Levine’s from Maroon 5 a run for this money, it’s safe to say that Serotonin is an absolute hit. There’s plenty of acoustic Funk grooved weaved into the anthemic mix while the thudding bassline accentuates the reverb which pours from the synth. Whilst I will always give a notable mention to lyrical genius, I can’t say it happens all too often within the Pop genre. Yet, the Los Angeles-based up and coming artist knows just how to create the perfect soundbites with his lyrics to create an infectiously catchy chorus.
So, if your playlists are severely lacking in up-vibe Funk-fuelled Electro Pop, you can check out Fabriq’s latest single Serotonin for yourselves by heading over to SoundCloud now.
