David Wakeling has described his latest track Almost Everything as ‘A Sonic Palette of Longing’, and well, I’m stumped to find better words for the viscerally compelling track. The Portland US based artist fused elements of Classic Rock, Indie, Americana and Post Punk to create a mix that any self-respecting audiophile will want to drink in. Whilst his vocals were dulcet and sweet the instrumentals absolutely stole the show with the sweet reverb which swept across each instrumental progression. Each of the acoustic instruments sat in perfect synergy as the track seamlessly meandered through the track.
With a slightly extended run time, you’re treated to plenty of lush guitar hooks and intricately euphoric melodies. Almost Everything is fairly different from anything else produced by the emerging artist, he’s injected the perfect amount of raucous vibrance to create the perfect Indie Anthem. It’s safe to say I have a firm favourite, yet his other tracks with a more Folk sensibility are equally as captivating.
