Any fans of In This Moment will undoubtedly want to check out the debut album “Nomads” from the up and coming Alt Rock powerhouse COLORWAVE. While the Alt Rock artist shares the same fierce aural bite as In This Moment, they’ve also found a stylistic way to incorporate elements of Pop Punk and Post Punk to create a contemporary hit which resonates like nothing else.
I’m sure I won’t be the only one who struggles when it comes to defining COLORWAVE’s volatile, polished sound, but that only gives me more certainty about the commercial potential in their pioneering debut. Especially with standout tracks on the album such as “Jericho, Jericho!”.
While Jericho, Jericho! has all the accessibility of Emo Power Pop, the Alt Rock instrumentals carve out a bed of bass-drenched, textured Metal creating the perfect platform for Ginny’s vocals which prove that female-fronted Rock deserve a place in the Alt Rock genre; and that place is right at the top of the charts.
