Just where has up coming Soul Pop duo CMK been hiding? With Jae Skye’s striking vocal capacity, I have no idea. “Forbidden Fruit” is the first single to be released the duo who have criminally kept their talents to themselves. Yet, I have a feeling that with their radio-ready sound, Jae Skye’s and Tombstone Chuck’s ascension to the top of their game will be a short one.
The Trap style beat behind Forbidden Fruit is contemporarily fresh, the harsh smacks and crashes of the 808’s accompany the lush waves of synth to create an intricately curated Urban Electro platform for CMK’s unflinching vocals to rest above. Any fans of Bjork’s approach to Pop are sure to appreciate CMK’s unique approach to their sound. Of all the new releases from Electro Pop artists I’ve heard recently, I’d put my money on CMK rising up from the underground before long.
