“I.R.B.” is the debut single from breaking recording artist Ceylon who orchestrates his atmospheric soundscapes through finding the perfect balance between elements of Trap, R&B, and downtempo Pop. With the motivation behind Ceylon’s sound being to create melodies which explores the psyche of a 21st-century human, it’s easy to feel that your soul is suitably exposed as you listen to the tentative ambient progressions.
The South London-based artist has a perceptibly deft ability to pour emotivity into his soundscapes. The Trap beats are accompanied by ethereally haunting layers of reverb, constructing the perfect platform for Ceylon to lay down his candid and compelling lyricism. What I loved the most about I.R.B. was the fact that Ceylon didn’t use flowery metaphors to verse the lyrics, and the delivery was just as raw as the explicit lyrics themselves.
