LT – How Would it Feel: The Ultimate Melancholic Dream-Pop Track

Award-winning singer-songwriter, LT (Leanne Tennant), has poured her spellbinding talent into yet another evocatively ensnaring single, How Would it Feel; by all accounts, it’s the ultimate melancholic pop track. Expect a similar sonic palette to the likes of Beach House, Deerhunter and Slowdive through the shoegazey angular guitars and hazy reverb paired with uplifting elements of folk.

LT delivered familiarity and alchemic distinction in the same package; her soulfully provoking, tender indie vocals command the soundscape in the same hypnotic way as London Grammar, Daughter and the XX. The reminiscences are great for reference, but to truly appreciate her exceptional songwriting skills, you’ll need to experience the soul of How Would It Feel first-hand.

Darrian Gerard makes no apologies with her hook-laden pop-punk single, I’m Not Sorry.

Alt-rock solo artist, Darrian Gerard, has released her self-produced single, I’m Not Sorry; the defiant anthem throws you right back to the glory days of scuzzy pop-punk while encompassing an emboldening modern lyricism style.

Away from Paramore and Avril Lavigne reminisces, I’m Not Sorry is a stellar track in its own right, and despite the DIY production, the infectiously hyper choruses reel you in hook, line and sinker. There is enough energy in this earworm to animate a main stage festival crowd. We can’t wait to watch Darrian Gerard climb the alt-rock charts with I’m Not Sorry.

Zazen gave FAULHABER’s ‘Go Ahead Now’ a bass-drenched future house feel with his remix.

Washington DC hailing artist and producer Zazen made the basslines even deeper in his remix of the world-renowned Dutch DJ and EDM producer FAULHABER’s seminal single, Go Ahead Now. The original was a fine feat of Euro-dance; under Zazen’s production, the track became infinitely more captivating with the ominous layers of reverb over dark tones and the breaks that became infinitely more extreme.

Since 2012, the independent artist, Zazen, has become renowned for his dynamic style that fuses future house with hard kicks and clean bass lines. For anyone who likes their EDM on the filthier side, you’ll find plenty of playlist stapes in his collection of original tracks and remixes.

Petrokinetic – Rollercoaster Ride (Charli XCX / Alice Deejay Mashup Cover).

Moscow-based artist and producer Petrokinetic took some time out from creating his chaotic original mixes to mashup iconic tracks by Charli XCX and Alice DJ in his latest release, Rollercoaster Ride. Brace yourselves; it is full-blown bash of aural insanity.

The boundary-breaking maximalist’s sonic style was never cultivated to be comfortable. Instead, the artist stays true to his moniker and aims to hectically overwhelm his fans with his experimental energy. You have to hand it to him; you will find few aural experiences on the airwaves as visceral as this.

JIJI brings the cinematic passion of old school soul in her debut indie-pop hit, My Place

RnB pop artist JIJI has released her debut single, My Place, which brings the intimacy of contemporary indie and all of the cinematic passion of old school soul. My Place starts as a minimalist acoustic track, led by the warm, lush tones of the guitar; as JIJI raises the energy with her vocals and girl-next-door-style-lyrics, the full-bodied production starts to resound with accordance that almost feels celestial.

After such a promising debut, naturally, we can’t wait to hear more from the up and coming luminary.

Neil Armstrong has released his soulfully-rendered interstellar piano pop single, Moon.

Singer-songwriter Neil Armstrong first won us over with his cinematic folk exploration of Western movie culture through his single, Falling Man, in 2020. With his latest single, Moon, he’s gone interstellar.

The soulfully rendered piano pop single carries an expressive yet tender flamboyance that should be a hit with fans of Elton John, Bowie and ELO. Armstrong truly comes into his own through his huskily affectionate vocals and his lyrics that draw parallels between the cosmos and the connections we make with each other.

Neil Armstrong may be the only person in 2021 venturing into space that isn’t a total douche. Forget about the space race and immerse yourself in this passion-driven sweet serenade instead.

UK solo artist Matt Black has made his industrial-rock debut with his single, Are You Afraid of the Dark?

UK-based singer-songwriter Matt Black tapped into the collective sense of listlessness and despair with his scathing industrial rock debut single, Are You Afraid of the Dark.

The lyric-less soundscape uses samples of doom-mongering news broadcasts, featuring our seemingly dim, realistically catastrophic prime minister who seems determined to blather the country to ruin around heavy scuzzy metal guitars and percussion that could only be described as apocalyptic.

With a similar sonic palette to Machine Head’s Bloodstone and Diamonds and Disturbed’s Down with the Sickness, we’re sure plenty of the industrial rock and metal community will welcome his cathartically foreboding presence on the airwaves with open arms.

Montana Stax brings hazy summer trap vibes in ‘Celine’.

Montana Stax

The latest track, Celine, from the East Coast hip hop artist Montana Stax is already well on its way to going viral; in the week after its release, it racked up 90k streams on SoundCloud alone.

Any fans of RZA, Method Man and Ghostface Killah will find that vibing with Montana Stax’ wildly expressive vocals is all too easy, while the hazy, summery trap instrumentals bring a touch of serenity to the amourously electric track which is just one of the singles on Stax’ new project, How I Spent My Vacation 2.

Lux Kiddo has released his harsh electronic hit, Robot Curmudgeon

With percussive inspiration from the likes of Aphex Twin and Squarepusher, Lux Kiddo’s latest harsh electronica mix, Robot Curmudgeon, flows with an ensnaring tempo and an even more magnetic pull through the progressive influence of Infected Mushroom.

The Brooklyn-born, Phoenix-based experimental artist has worked as a sound tech and musician since the relocation from his home town; in 2020, he dropped his debut album Cityscapes. Now that dancefloors are back open, we’re sure they will be eager to hear more of his uniquely explorative style that uses familiar industrial/EBM elements with refreshing melodic flair.

Sarah Rae has released her hyper dream-pop track, Crimson Rose

‘Crimson Rose’ is the latest single from breaking artist Sarah Rae who merges dream-pop with hyper-pop to resounding effect. The Atlanta-based singer-songwriter set out to create an epic dream-pop track that weaves through dissonance; discernibly, she succeeded.

The bitter-sweet emotional tone of the single is amplified by the volatile nature of the soundscape that starts with soft staccato synths before catapulting into a raw balladic outpour of emotion.

Lyrically, the track centres around letting go of things that no longer serve you; if you’re going to break free to any pop track, it is going to be this one.
