NALLA is liberatingly demure in her orchestrally originated alt RnB Single, Sidechick

There are few things in this life as bitter-sweet as concluding that you’re a sidepiece for someone you have fallen wholeheartedly for, which NALLA demurely explores in her latest single, Sidechick.

The smoky R&B single pays homage to the roots of the genre while replanting them through a fresh futuristic vision that resounds through the distorted vocals in the intro and the glitchy rhythm of the beats that allow the sensually convictive single to veer into the trip-hop arena.

If any single is going to compel you to stand by your convictions and muster enough self-esteem to walk away from an unworthy lothario who probably needs to spend thousands in therapy before he works through his inability to commit, it’s this orchestrally scored masterpiece.

Sidechick is now available to stream via Spotify.

Evelyine found the poetry in intimacy in her RnB single, Moonlight + Cotton Sheets

Finding the poetry in intimacy, the up-and-coming RnB soulstress, Evelyine, reached evocatively ethereal heights with her latest single, Moonlight + Cotton Sheets.

Between the contemporary kick of the trip-hop textures, the contrast of the smooth rap bars from the featuring artist, Adrian Wright, and her elevated harmonies, which reminisce with 90s pop and RnB nostalgia, the soul in the standout single from her album, NEW LIFE, is hypnotising.

The Grand Rapids, MI singer-songwriter has been polishing her RnB pop edge since the age of seven, when she started writing lyrics. Under the influence of Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera and Celine Dion, she found her voice, leading to her becoming a regular performer by age 16. After touring the circuit with cover material, she returned to her songwriting passion and penned her first single, New Life, which hit the airwaves in January 2022.

Whatever her next move is, we know it’s going to be embellished with soul, talent and intrinsic grace.

LA’s Sani Knight is ‘BADASF’ in his latest slice of seductively self-aware RnB Hip Hop

At 19 years old, the LA-residing artist Sani Knight has conquered the music industry with over a million streams on his collective discography, which kicked off in 2020. Marrying RnB and new wave hip-hop, his latest single, BADASF, allows wavy RnB melodies to seductively flow to the solid trappy beats.

If that wasn’t enough to get you in the mood, the pop-pinched effect-laden vocals that flow as mellifluously as the instrumental melodies in the short and sweet hit are hypnotic in their salacious vibe. Lyrical gold runs through the entire duration, but no line hits harder than “even if we don’t feel the same tomorrow, even if the love we made is hollow”.

Few artists are more self-aware of the inclination of wanting to ride slow as a means to a dopamine-fixing end. Undoubtedly, that is a vital key to the success the artist inspired by The Weeknd, 6LACK, and Che Ecru has unlocked.

BADASF was officially released on December 16th. Check it out on Spotify.

Ira Sharma Interview: Soaking our hungry souls on the stunning Shy

Dual majoring it up and showing us her boss mentality, Ira Sharma opens the door and lets us into her music life and more. Talking about her latest single Shy, her love for nature and letting us into her early years singing, we find out what it’s like to be chasing your dreams no matter the challenges.

Hello there Ira Sharma. Thank you for chatting with us. Where can we find you today and what kind of breakfast usually puts you in good spirits?
Ira: Hey Llewelyn, thanks for having me as a guest on your esteemed blog. I am currently in Delhi, India and my all-time favorite breakfast, that not only fuels my body but also puts me in good spirits is dosa, a thin crepe made of lentils served with sambar, a spicy lentil-based vegetable stew. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried it.

Please tell us about your mesmerizing new single called Shy. What was the inspiration for your latest creation and how did the process develop with your producer, Palash?
Ira: “Shy” is the name of my latest single that came out November 26th on all streaming platforms. It’s an electrifying dance pop track produced by my incredible friend and producer, Palash. As students of Berklee College of Music, Boston, we had a Writing Bootcamp, in which we had the opportunity to submit our tracks to executives from major record labels like, Warner Music Group, Universal, Capitol, and so on… So, naturally, Palash and I were down for the challenge, and luckily enough, out of hundreds of submissions, “Shy” made it to the chosen list of songs in the Electronic Dance Music category presented to the Vice-President of A&R, Atlantic Records. I was incredibly grateful to have had the honor of top-lining as well as recording vocals for “Shy.” Our intention throughout this process was clear— to create an electronic house banger with infectious melodies and unforgettable hooks.

The legendary Berklee College of Music, Boston, is your current home. What’s it like there and are you enjoying it?
Ira: Everyday I’m grateful to be a student at the Prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. It was always my dream school growing up and I can’t believe I finally made it here, that too, all the way from India, thanks to my parents for always supporting my dreams. I’ve made it to my fourth year as a Songwriting and Music Production & Engineering double major. If I had to describe what it’s like being a Berklee student in two words, it’ll be “Musical Heaven.” Everyday I get to swim in a sea full of highly gifted musicians from all over the world. I am truly blessed and grateful for being at Berklee.

If you could have any superpower you desire for 24 hours, what would it be and why?
Ira: If I could have any superpower I desired for 24 hours, it would be to communicate with the natural world of plants and animals. That’s because I love spending more and more time in nature and these days, especially, with our obsession with technology, it’s getting harder and harder to find time to disconnect and simply lay oneself in nature’s arms. Besides, I’m super
intrigued to learn about those secrets of nature that are still unknown to mankind.

Your vocals are so crisp and such an ear-soother in this noisy world. Have you always been singing or when did everything fall into place?
Ira: Thank you, that’s so very kind of you to say! I have, as a matter of fact, always been singing, ever since I was a baby, as my mom told me, it started with babbling. Eventually, as I grew up, I naturally took the course of singing: humming melodies, writing poems and singing them as young as 4 years old. Music became an inseparable part of my life so my parents put me into singing lessons at a very early age at Noida School of Rock. There, I received training in Vocal Performance in for over 8 years and also got a diploma from Rockschool London.

What’s the best piece of advice another musician ever gave you?
Ira: The best piece of advice that another musician has ever given me is to make music that serves people. The very fact, that I have the gift of creating music is a blessing. With that blessing, I have the responsibility to serve my listeners with music they can either relate with or celebrate with. Music has the power to move people and make them feel emotions they’ve never even felt before. With that power, comes great responsibility, for me, as an artist to create music that is true, meaningful and serves my listeners well.

Last, do you have anything cookin’ music/tour-wise in 2023 that you can share with us?
Ira: In 2023, I am planning to do several shows in Boston as well as the Greater Boston area. Besides that, I am focusing on finishing my debut EP. After its release, I’d certainly have more tour dates announced on all my socials, so definitely stay tuned for that!

Spend your ‘Christmas Mornin’ with the slick RnB debut single from Jaai.

Channelling the timeless soul of Ella Fitzgerald and the slick impassioned style of Sade, the Atlanta-based gospel RnB singer-songwriter Jaai. helped her fans to celebrate ‘Christmas Mornin’ with the chilled jazzy vibe in her debut single.

The smoothly uplifting single, released on December 2nd, proves just how much Christmas music has evolved since Mariah Carey started topping the Christmas charts every year. Jaai. is on truly sublime form in Christmas Mornin, which flows to the subtle seduction of boom-bap beats and her celestially elegant vocal timbre that would leave you with a shiver if it wasn’t so warming.

The single takes away any sense of novelty away from Christmas music and strips commercialism from the holiday itself, as it reminds you that Christmas is a day like every other, where joy revolves around the people that light up our lives. The artificial lights, no matter how bright, could never compare.

Christmas Mornin’ is now available to stream on all major platforms via this link.

Anesia Renee interview on A&R Factory: New Money feels rather good

We sat down with the incredibly soulful RnB vocalist Anesia Renee recently. She shows us how her faith strengthens her and eloquently describes how she got into music at only 6 years old.

Thank you for chatting with us today, Anesia Renee. Please let everyone know where we can find you today and how do you normally start your day?
Anesia: If you missed any in-person performances that I do across the U.S. You can virtually find me on Instagram (@imanesiarenee), TikTok (@anesiareneewrld), and Twitter (@AnesiaMusic). I know Twitter is not so popular right now given the current situation with them, but just in case anyone still uses it, you can still find me. So, as far as how I start my day a lot of people assume that since I have a lot of followers on my platforms combined that I have it made. No, let’s be real – I still work my 9-5 and still get booked and compensated for my music performances along with being a well-known influencer on TikTok. I believe others should see that singing is a major part of who I am, but I am also still a real person who does regular things.

How did you get into the music game?
Anesia: My story goes back at the age of 6. I loved singing and all but at 10 years old, I decided to challenge my skills by not only singing but writing my own songs. I genuinely have a passion for this. By the grace of God, my talents led me to open for RnB singer Avant, I was a background singer for Tye Tribbett, DeWayne Woods, and more.

Please tell us more about your new release, New Money.
Anesia: There’s kind of a funny story behind the new release, New Money. I had the beat for 4 years sitting on my flashdrive. I recently re-discovered the beat last year and sent it to Sean Alexander (IG: @synthsei) who works for Teddy Riley (IG: @teddyriley1). Sean co-produced the track. To be transparent, “New Money”; was inspired by my growth as a woman and really feeling like I’m just a new person. Let’s just say, money feels good and I feel good. #IssaVibe

What does it feel like when you’re on stage and performing live with those lights on bright?
Anesia: It is VERY fulfilling! My live band and the interaction and participation in the crowd sparks my energy. The feeling is indescribable.

Which musicians inspire you to be better?
Anesia: Just to name a few, I would say Jill Scott, Jazmine Sullivan, Chrisette Michele, and Corinne Bailey Rae. They are versatile, hard working, entertaining and authentic. They are set aside from the typical well-known artists in the industry because they truly have depth. They have raw talent.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Anesia: My grandmother and mother have always told me to Keep God First! I’ve been sticking to that in everything I do.

Last, what do you think the music industry needs to do in order for the scene to be better and help underground artists shine?
Anesia: The music industry needs to push them. The industry needs to give artists the opportunity to be on a platform in front of major audiences, such as more openings and bigger platform access. Giving the truly talented ones a chance!

Ozzie Aguilera channelled their natural sultry beguile into the dream pop fantasy of a resilience-advocating single, You Can’t Give Up

The autonomy advocator Ozzie Aguilera is a sonic vision in their latest jazzy RnB dream-pop single, You Can’t Give Up. The single testifies to the strength that everyone who goes against the heteronormative mould has to muster to stand a chance in a world that claims to celebrate individuality before beating down anyone that shines a little brighter than the rest.

The powerfully demure single extends the ‘haters gonna hate’ conversation to serve as a reminder that there will always be times when you feel like giving in, but relenting to that entropy will never be your only option.

The Mexican American singer-songwriter, makeup artist and entrepreneur may claim to strive for emotional expression over perfection; in my view, they’re a faultless pioneer who always leaves us arrested by their ethereal grace and natural sultry beguile.

You Can’t Give Up was officially released on December 9th. Hear it on Spotify.
