Unshackle your soul with Imelda Gabs’ latest alt-RnB single, Free Spirit

The innovative soul singer Imelda Gabs took back control in her empoweringly enlightening alt-RnB single, Free Spirit, which is just one of the standout singles on her debut LP, Synopsis. The track is for anyone that has ever encountered a fuckboy/girl and been left reeling with questions confounded by insecurity and self-doubt when actions have no cohesion with their words in the cold light of day when they’ve had the usury way.

Any fans of the Weeknd will be instantly enamoured by the synthetically sweet instrumentals that fuse elements of future pop with the soul of RnB to create the perfect platform for her vocal lines as they evolve from ethereal to convectively powerful.

‘Moving on’ songs proliferate the airwaves, but few lyricists prove that the pen is mightier than the sword as well as Imelda Gabs, who will take you on an inner-healing journey with this introspectively emboldening release which takes all of the guilt away from naivety.

Free Spirit hit the airwaves on April 14. Catch it on Spotify.

RnB innovator, Phil Q, went interstellar with his latest single, Supernova, which efficaciously added a new trajectory to the evolution of the genre through the scintillatingly contemporary production, the bluesy guitars, and the glisteningly spacey pop elements.

With the trap beats oozing as much sex appeal as the vocal lines and the lyrics, which roadmap the kind of carnal pleasure that is only in reach when you’re in the arms of someone you love, consider Supernova as the ultimate aural aphrodisiac and affirmation that Phil Q is definitively one to watch.

Supernova is the title single from the Bay Area singer-songwriter and producer’s latest EP, which any RnB fan will want to devour completely after the lead single gives you a taste of his meta ingenuity.

Raymond Theard & Frannie EL delivered luxe euphonic soul in their latest single, She Wants Me

For their latest single, She Wants Me, the New Orleans born and raised RnB luminary and owner of 4u Productions, Raymond Theard, roped in the vocal cords of Frannie EL to deliver luxe euphonic soul, served with a slice of seductive rap that effortlessly coalesces with his 90s-ESQUE harmonies that turn up the heat on romantic gratitude.

The perfect soundtrack to a late-night drive through a glistening metropolis, She Wants Me reached the pinnacle of sonic sex appeal as it cruises through the mellifluous progressions with groove pockets so deep that you could bed down in them. Instead of solely pulling at the roots of RnB, Theard planted a few soul seeds of his own, enabling the hit to set the bar for any contemporary looking to tattoo themselves in their audiences’ memory.

She Wants Me hit the airwaves on March 31; hear it on Spotify.

AŸA is anything but pedestrian in her jazzy RnB pop single, Sidewalk

Singer-songwriter, producer, and artist AŸA has beguiled the Berlin scene and beyond with her latest RnB pop rendezvous, Sidewalk, which is anything but pedestrian for the way it breaks the monocultural mould by pulling on her Moroccan and Yemeni Roots while keeping the production refreshingly contemporary.

If I’m being honest, I dread the run-up to summer for the swathes of superficial sun-soaked singles that land on my metaphorical desk, but AŸA couldn’t be trite if she tried. The revolutionary soul in the ethereally warm vocal lines melding with the dominant percussion is a lesson in Summer pop alchemy. If the sax lines and the lyrics that narrate a story of romantic stagnation don’t leave you wanting to dive into realms of fulfilment, you may as well hibernate through summer too.

“The lyrics of the song are a metaphor for an ongoing relationship that is actually not going anywhere. Instead of riding into the sunlight with the one you love, you find yourself taking dark paths and compromises for the one you love even though it feels so wrong.”

Sidewalk was written, composed, and produced by AŸA, with help from Kurtis Wells, Johnny Kulo, and Gavriel. Executive production and mixing were taken care of by the #1 Billboard music producer, Ido Poleg, and the single was mastered by the award-winning engineer, Manon Grandjean.

My bro was telling me: Somecallmewale avoids the overthink on NOT THAT DEEP

Moving away from the previously unhealthy mindset, Somecallmewale keeps things smooth and simple to make our palates happier again away from the nervous vibes which can wrap up real souls like unnecessary plastic in the ocean on NOT THAT DEEP.

Somecallmewale is a London, UK-based British-Nigerian music producer-artist who is as charismatic as they come and projects his vibe rather splendidly on each track.

Wale is deeply influenced by the sounds of Rap, R&B, and soul, citing artists like Whitney Houston, Babyface, and Vince Staples as major inspirations. However, Wale draws inspiration from a variety of sources, whether from UK Grime, Jazz, and even Bollywood soundtracks.” ~ Somecallmewale

Do you like mellow music with a message? Somecallmewale is the name we should all be talking about. Sizzling with patience and calming vibes to embrace, this is a top-notch soundtrack to admire for its intellect.

You don’t feel the Same: JXKR sends our emotions soaring on Stardust (feat. Dani)

Waiting for the moment when a 2nd epicentre connects with so naturally, JXKR wants so much more but senses that it will have to wait for another time on the stunning new single Stardust (feat. Dani).

JXKR is an Ottawa, Ontario-based indie Haitian-Canadian musician/producer who is currently working on the upcoming EP which will be released in the fall.

My goal is to work with local artists and be a part of the R&B industry in the community.” ~ JXKR

After the underground love given to the debut single Rendez-Vous in 2022, JXKR opens up our feelings for a 2nd time and goodness me, this is special. Vocally tranquil and with unpretentious lyrics about how complicated romance can be sometimes, we find a song to hold hands with when there might not be another sweet kiss.

Stardust (feat. Dani) from Haitian-Canadian musician/producer JXKR is a tale that so many of us have sadly felt before when more is wanted, in a relationship which promised no strings at first. Layed in beauty and soaring with a revealing look into the love life which could have had it all, this is a sterling display from a single with true meaning.

Sometimes, it’s just not meant to be if another heart isn’t quite ready.

KASIA is spellbindingly subversive in her jazzy RnB pop single, Isn’t Love Strange

KASIA

With her hair-raising vocal lines pooling into the ethereal atmosphere of her latest indie alt-pop single that pulls in jazzy RnB motifs, KASIA is spellbinding in Isn’t Love Strange.

Love is lyrically depicted as many things, but strange is far from up there as one of the most common archetypes. Plateauing far above the tired tropes, KASIA tunes into the blurred lines of affection, alluding to how conflicting the transpiring emotions can be. Communicating how fear is often an uninvited guest on the honeymoon of new relationships, KASIA artfully illustrated how much we put on the line when we put our vulnerability in someone else’s hands.

If Isn’t Love Strange was the 1000th song the singer-songwriter had penned, you could colour us impressed; yet it was only the second song written by the natural-born songstress who effortlessly has what it takes to leave the airwaves at her command.

Isn’t Love Strange will officially release on April 17; catch it on on all major platforms.
