Ozzie Aguilera gave the ultimate lesson in reformation in their 2023 reworking of ‘Yo Quiero Saber’

The Mexican-American singer-songwriter, makeup enthusiast and entrepreneur, Ozzie Aguilera, revisited the past by reworking their 2022 Alt Latino Pop debut single, Yo Quiero Saber, to prove that life is a journey of progress, and even though you have to be accepting of your flaws, if there is the opportunity for growth, grab it with two hands and don’t let go.

The 2022 version was a melodic dream. The 2023 reinvention carries the same dream-like colourful mesmerism with swathes more conviction in the harmonies, which exemplifies the message in the single, that we are all constantly evolving.

It was a highly conceptual move from the mindfully captivating innovator. One that shows how willing they are to right wrongs and how capable they are of spreading a resolving message of inspiration to all of their listeners on their own paths.

Yo Quiero Saber was released on June 9th; stream it on Spotify.

POVEDA reminds us of that warm 1985 glow on Otra Noche Más

Bringing us the first composition of Roberto’s career from 1985 which has extra flair added for modern times, POVEDA performs with an electric skill and wholehearted desire on Otra Noche Más.

POVEDA is a 2-piece project born from the creative minds of Cuban composer Roberto Poveda and the American drummer Layton Weedeman.

It is no coincidence the song of freedom was picked up and recorded by the national record label of Cuba, EGREM, but met its interesting fate and was mysteriously lost without a trace. Nearly 35 years later, during the 2020 pandemic, Roberto brought the song back to life.” ~ POVEDA

Decompressing the stresses of the world with something so peacefully chilled and pleasant to sip on at the beach, POVEDA has dropped a rather influential soundtrack to summer. This is a superbly constructed song with innovative juices dripping from each corner and shall evoke a warm feeling of hope into each listener’s veins.

Otra Noche Más from the Cuban/American duo project POVEDA is a rather peaceful soundtrack to roaming around and seeing the world with a positive mindset. Sung with a soulful passion and brimming with a carefully calm aura of adventure, we are treated to something rather unique.

In a world replenished with sneaky copycats, this is a warm ray of sunshine in all the right places.

Mia Laren is demurely devil may care in her cinematic Latino pop track, Careful

Starting with a scintillating spoken word verse which outlines the brutality of betrayal with devil-may-care demure beguile, Latino pop artist Mia Laren’s latest single, Careful, is a cinematic invitation into her hypnotically emboldening scorn.

Slip into the sonorous soul of Jamie Toomey’s latest single, My Love is Real, featuring Syauqi Destanika

Taken from the sophomore album, Second Sunlight, from the eclectic Irish musician Jamie Toomey, the ambient jazzy RnB single, which comes laced with loungey folky instrumentation, My Love is Real, featuring Syauqi Destanika is a mesmeric offering of sincerity.

The tenderness to the uniquely uplifting melodies amplifies the luxe Gospel-Esque vocal timbre of the Indonesian vocalist, Syauqi Destanika, to the nth degree in the stripped-back soundscape which makes minimal demands on your attention but tugs on your heartstrings all the more viscerally for it.

You can delve into My Love is Real for yourselves from September 23rd by heading over to SoundCloud.

A1 Ali has delivered yet another flawlessly evocative fusion track with ‘Mia’

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMVGRkc7y1E

A1 Ali is fresh from the release of yet another flawlessly evocative fusion track that melds hip hop, RnB, pop and Latin to bring authentic world music vibes along with an earwormy structure that almost demands that you give the sun-kissed track repeat attention.

The Bahamas born artist poured plenty of timeless soul into the rhythmically exotic track, which comes with an intimate indie feel, thanks to the production that leaves the raw elements incredibly visceral as the lyrics that flit between salacious lust and old school romanticism.

The Bahamas-born artist spent some time in Santiago de Cuba before perusing his goal of becoming a global sensation. Based on Mia, we’d say he is well on his way to reaching the heights he’s aiming for.

[Spotlight Feature] Ethan Mark delivered honeyed euphonic bliss in his indie psych soul single, The Concept of You

There is nothing hallmark about the rich and vibrant sentimentality of Ethan Mark’s latest single, The Concept of You. With the straight-from-the-soul vocal passion as a paramour of the sultry Flamenco guitars, the RnB track is the epitome of affectionate sincerity.

His mellifluous harmonised vocals become the central gravity of the title single from his upcoming album, which will release in June 2022. As the world music flair gently wrestles with the psychedelic indie vibes, it is impossible not to get caught up in the sun-bleached bliss of the exotically euphonic single that stands as a testament to Ethan Mark’s organically distinctive production style. Despite the tonal eclecticism that encompasses the soul of old school hip hop, the evocative capacity of alt-RnB and the grooves in non-westernised music, every element gels cohesively together under Mark’s sporadically off-kilter production style.

After getting a sneak peek of the upcoming album, it is easy to anticipate massive strides in the Toronto-residing artist’s music career.

Here’s what Ethan Mark had to say about his latest release:

“The Concept of You, and the upcoming album, came about from a challenge from my partner. She, a listener of neo-soul and jazz, challenged me to pare my usually elaborate and busy musical style down to something more organic, soulful, and pretty.

The result was a series of love songs encompassing many different facets of love. The single refers to her, the sepia-toned memories of summers, the roots we have put down together, and the love for home.

These themes felt especially important after a long period punctuated by isolations, introversion, and cabin fever. It’s accentuated by nylon guitar strings, cascading violins, gentle pianos, and the frailties and soul of harmonised vocals. In supporting the themes of roots, home, and love, the album is paired with visuals romanticizing wintertime in Toronto.”

The title track from Ethan Mark’s upcoming album, The Concept of You, is now available to stream on Spotify.

The Latino fusionist, ROLF has released his most seductive track to date with OTRA NOCHE DE AMANTES

To follow on from his 2021 debut single, Soltera, the Latino alt-pop artist, ROLF unleashed his vibe-packed 6-track EP, ILUSIONES. For new fans to his seductively soulful style, OTRA NOCHE DE AMANTES is the ultimate introduction.

With the Spanish lyricism, for English monolingual minds, there’s an air of mystery. When the lyrics are translated, ROLF keeps his enigmatic allure which also resonates in his fusion of spacey ambient electronica, Latin pop, and RnB.

To amplify the demure energy, ROLF brought in jazz and rock nuances to ensure that you are well and truly transfixed by the outro. OTRA NOCHE DE AMANTES may be a short and sweet track, but considering that it delivers 2-minutes of aural bliss, it leaves nothing to be desired.

OTRA NOCHE DE AMANTES is now available to stream on Spotify.
