“Soul Spaces” is the latest feat of experimentally sonic electronica from US artist C3Y3LOW. While the mix should be of plenty of appeal to fans of Massive Attack and Portishead, it’s probably better to allude to the nature of Soul Spaces by telling you you’ve never heard anything quite like this before.
The instrumental soundtrack offers a distinctive brand of ambience. While it won’t lull you into a state of catharsis, it will allow you to surrender your conscious to veraciously urgent progressions which blast their way through the track.
Even though the soundscape is consistently evolving throughout the duration of Soul Spaces, there’s a conflictive, evocative sense of biting emotion behind the futuristic analog beats.
