It wouldn’t be a daring statement to say that contained within Beth Macari’s latest single “BOY” is some of the anthemically fluid world-inspired beats that have been infused into a Pop single this year. The Newcastle-based artist takes the mainstream Pop sound and reinvents it with layers of Soul and Funk, unsurprisingly the end result is a sound which tears holes through the fabric of the Pop industry.
The track kicks with an unflinchingly captivating orchestral prelude before progressing into an amped up EDM Pop hit fuelled by a full-bodied melody. Considering that this is only the second track to be produced by the up and coming artist, her career is already full of commercial potential thanks to her uniquely arresting vocals and approach to her signature sound. Beth has spent her summer sharing stages with the likes of Jessie Ware, Kaiser Chiefs and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, and plans to tour extensively in 2019. So, If I were you, I’d get acquainted with her sound now. It’s only a matter of time before she’ll be stealing the headline spots.
