So, what has compelled over 40k Hip Hop fans to check out Beach Gang’s new track Na Listenin on YouTube since the tracks release on April 4th, 2018?
It may have something to do with the chill Trap beat, Beach Gang’s gritty realist style, or his grounding lyrics that carry so much bounce it’s almost impossible to listen to Na Listenin and stay still. Beach Gang’s grinding Rap style draws you into the narrative of the track alongside the bordering on genius lyricism. There isn’t one flaw to be found in the multi-layer mix of sound which has been composed to create a hauntingly synergic momentum which quite literally gave me chills. Whilst the track may be relatively testosterone driven I couldn’t help but find the resonance within the angst Beach Gang was projecting into the mic. With his other tracks such as ‘Love My’, another one of Beach Gang’s 2018 releases the orchestration of the Trap beat wouldn’t be out of place in a black and white film score. The eerily romantic sound carries through to Na Listenin, however the stark contrast between vocals and beat was infinitely more tangible through ‘Love My’. With this pioneering approach Beach Gang is well and truly on my to-watch list for 2018.
