BARK’s latest track Cold and Silent Featuring Krystal Hawes is simply a monumental masterpiece, its artistic sound is just as resounding as iconic acts such as Bjork and PJ Harvey and that’s not a comparison I make lightly.
Everything about the track is sublime from the bassline that drives you through the synthy chaos that has been orchestrated to the icy, yet palpable vocals from Krystal Hawes. There’s almost a macabre ambience to the track with its experimental sound that translates into an explosion of electrifying Alt Dark Wave EDM. The lyrics to Cold and Silent are driven by a dark introspective and an undertone of Art Rock sorrow, yet the club beat lifts the track from the grips of melancholy. I can’t recommend you check out this track by the NY based collective enough, if the sound wasn’t enough to motivate you, the Lynchian music video just might!
