Los Angeles based ALYA may be an up and coming artist right now, but her debut track Animals will ensure her trip to the top is a short ascension. I can guarantee her pioneeringly empyreal sound will resound deeper than any track you’ve checked out this year. ALYA is an amalgamation of every great female artist on the scene to date and then some. Through her latest artistic track that’s packed full of Witch House vibes you get a taste of Bjork’s ingenious madness with a tint of the melancholic reproach of Massive Attack, but quite frankly, you’ve never heard anything like ALYA’s sound before. Her hook heavy beats are mixed up with angular guitar chord progression with a tantalising trapping of classical strings to make her sound truly timeless. The seamless progression of her debut track meanders through too many genres sounds to list, how ALYA managed to do it in a track that isn’t even three minutes long is a true testament to her style which knows no boundaries.
You can check out ALYA’s genre mash up of a track Animals on SoundCloud or head on over to her official website.
