With her latest album “Since ‘96”, Pop newcomer ALIX has created a demure, yet authoritatively immersive array of beats with a sultry urban edge. While the tracks may flirt with plenty of genres, they all carry the same deep and moodily hypnotic catharsis which makes it all too easy to fall into ALIX’s contemporarily fresh approach to Pop.
It would seem that along the way Pop stars forgot hot to carry sex appeal, but you’ll only need to hear the raw and organic dynamics of ALIX’s vocal range to remember how sex and the Pop industry started their perpetual relationship. Each of the singles runs with its own distinctive allure with plenty of switch ups in tempo and moods. If you’re looking for a skippable track on the album, you won’t find one.
