Velvet is a track which sits ever so neatly between Indie Jangle Pop and rhythmic Rock. It’s still got the grind and roll of a decadently filthy guitar riff, yet the synergy created by rest of the instrumentals collides and creates an effervescent hype you’d expect from an Electro Pop outfit. It’s safe to say the band’s ingenuity brings ALEXIS KING’s latest single Velvet to a whole new level.
The tonality to the track is sultry, yet in a complete contrast there’s a hint of unadultered innocence thrown into the mix. The Indie vocalist may have a long way to come before matching the drawling prowess of Mick Jagger, but ALEX KINGS are well on their way with their raucously-infectious radio ready sound. Their earlier singles ‘Squire’ and ‘Strawberry Blonde’ have already gained national radio coverage and it’s safe to say, they’ve exceeded themselves with Velvet with their archaic inclinations and contemporary inspirations.
