“Horizon” is the latest cathartically indulgent single from up and coming Pittsburgh, US-based artist Across the Dawn. The track kicks off with an acoustic guitar-led soundscape which introduces the soft indie rock vocals which steadily gain power and throw away restraint as the single progresses. The track leads up to a captivatingly mellifluous sweet spot in which you can truly appreciate the synergy of each instrument as they gently carve out a melancholic melody with a touch of Post Punk atmospherics.
Despite the touches of pensive tonality in the instrumentals, Horizon remains to be an uplifting single thanks to Across the Dawn’s vocalist’s ability to lace compassion with harmony and make a visceral connection with the listener. Any fans of Incubus will undoubtedly want to put Across the Dawn on their radars after this emotively iron wrought single.
