The queens of emboldening lyrical mantras, The LOOP, have released their latest alt-RnB single, ABOUT YOU

Boston’s most empowering alt-RnB duo, The LOOP, have released their latest single, ABOUT YOU. The track serves as the perfect introduction to the teen artist’s fiery approach to their sound that melds urban pop, hip hop and RnB with the catchy and conscious wit in their lyrics.

With invaluably introspective lyrical drops, such as “confidence is more than attitude” and “why try so hard to be something you’re not”, by the outro comes around, you’ll be left with emboldening mantras tattooed inside your mind.

It takes most people a lifetime to come to the same epiphanies that Marcia Bibbins and M’Zariah Starr share through their singles. At this point, we probably shouldn’t need to point out that they are ones to watch. Especially with their tendency to artfully stamp down their signature sound in each of their releases.

ABOUT YOU is now available to stream on Spotify.

The LOOP – See Me Beyond My Skin featuring MZ Starr & Marcia

Boston-based RnB pop duo the LOOP made their debut in February 2021 with their soulfully interrogative single, ‘See Me Beyond My Skin’, featuring collaborative artists MZ Starr and Marcia.

It’s the pinnacle of elegance as it confronts subconscious and conscious prejudice and invites the listener to look deeper when attempting to understand women of colour. The single possess plenty of sonic power, but the real weight in this single is how it allows you to find compassion for people who are in view but never truly seen.

Hopefully, one day, tracks such as See Me Beyond My Skin won’t need to exist; for now, we’ll have to heed the words of artists such as the Loop who are bringing that day closer with their melodic grooves, unfiltered lyrics and harmonically sweet vocals.

See Me Beyond My Skin is now available to stream via Spotify.

Out The Loop: New York’s Lady J Musiq throws out cheating ex lover on excellent debut solo track ‘Heartbreak’

Showing her utter disdain for a weak man who she once cared deeply about, Lady J Musiq rips the mic off the stand with a ferocious delivery up there with the best in the game on ‘Heartbreak‘.

Jalissa Troy aka Lady J Musiq is a sensational New York City-based emcee, who makes that real music about knowing your self-worth and teaches us vivid stories of life growing up in her wild city, which either makes you go up, or breaks you down to dust.

Her flow is so alluring and raspy, you feel her captivating voice deep inside your beating heart as you connect with her pain of being betrayed, her electric attitude is contagious in a good way, as he throws out the rubbish to start fresh again. The beat captures the moment just right, as she drives away from the past so she can ride fresh into a new place, away from a person who turned out to be a slithering snake.

Heartbreak‘ from the exhilarating talent of New York hip-hop artist Lady J Musiq, is a thrilling rap track about a former lover who showed his true colors when you needed him to be loyal. The wandering eye was a dumb mistake from him that can’t ever be accepted, so you packed his bags and ended things before more drama came into the door.

Her straight up attitude shines through and we are witnessing the start of a special journey from a supremely skilled musician, who has that extra bit of quality that you just can’t teach.

Synth-soaked Sapha styles the loops to perfection with stunning ”Isolated”

https://soundcloud.com/heysapha/isolated

Based in Wuppertal in Germany this is a loop-filled song with all-time goodness. Producer Sapha revives our battered hearts with this marvelously created Avicii (RIP) type beat that triggers all those hairs on my arms.

A purely instrumental song with no lyrics, this is all about helping us feel a but better after this dreadful lock down that has taken so many lives and torn the world. Pure music is hard to come by these days but this is a lovely treat that has been baked with love. ”Isolated” is a harmonious effort from a quality producer.

I like the vibe here as the sound is so pure and make me feel a bit happier and thinking less about what is going on outside. You can hear some harps here and the beat builds up to be very inspirational with that lovely piano beat. All in all this is a stunning single here that creates a lovely wave of energy that we can all climb and float on the water for a while. Staying sane in this time is the key to mental health and more music like this is always welcome with open arms.

Head through to Soundcloud to hear this fantastic track that will help with the blues.

Cave Suns – Sloop John Dee: Tribally Entrancing Dark Psych Rock

Even with the Avant-Garde obscurity in Cave Suns’ danceably electric single ‘Sloop John Dee’ from their New EP ‘Surt Skum’, the tribally rhythmic pull of the single allows your pulses to register the arrestive instrumental improvisation from the first progression.

Each new evolution in sound hits you like an emboldening, radiating incantation. Any fans of the Telescopes, Gnod, Kill Your Boyfriend, Goat, Grateful Dead, Femur and Television will undoubtedly want to delve into the transfixing release which takes you on a 6 minute journey through the Newcastle, UK-based artist’s ingenuity.

I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to hear a new luminary powerhouse offering galvanizing droning fuzzy dark psych-rock instead of appearing  as a carbon copy of the Beatles, The Doors or Pink Floyd. It’s probably for blackened hearts instead of the faint of heart.

Looping in the garden: Welsh artist Munki amazes our brains with the live video ‘Sit By The Hillside’

https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=980394455717753

Munki gives us a song to fully immerse our hearts in with his live looping single shot in his family garden in Wales called ‘Sit By The Hillside‘.

Theodore Burn aka Munki is an original multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter from the deep forests of beautiful South West Wales. After recently moving to bustling Bristol in England (before lock down hit), he is on a mission to make us much authentic music as humanly possible.

Predominantly a drummer and percussionist, this is an artist who only uses natural instruments and this earthy atmosphere makes you gaze up above and dream of good vibes.

With a 4 track EP on the way, working on around 5 projects, a new studio getting set up and music videos on the horizon, it feels like the momentum is starting to happen with this artist and with his Papa on the video edit, its a family effort.

If he can get his music business plan in sync with the high standard of what we hear, this is an artist that can do what he loves all over the world. Being on YouTube and all the big streaming platforms is needed but this probably part of his master plan. You can tell that this is an extremely talented artist who has that extra quality deep inside his soul and he loves what he does.

The amount of music intricacies blows your mind as he is like a classical artist, each part of the song has been carefully planned with organic nature taking him on a journey that is so varied and wonderfully made. You will be tapping your feet to this for hours and trying to work out what is really going in is like piecing an exciting jigsaw together.

Munki is quite masterful on the almost 8 minute live looping lesson on ‘Sit By The Hillside‘. This is music to recharge with naturally, sit in the garden with and enjoy with friends and family with birds tweeting in the background. Life is okay again with music like this from the Welsh wizard.

Music to get weird with: Bahbiss Cobb drops mysteriously exciting ‘Feeling Loopy’

Moonpie and Yum Yum by Bahbiss Cobb

With a fascinating start with many layers in intrinsic electronic sounds to wet the thirsty pallet, the gorgeous groove is soon woven into your tired brain and you enthusiastically gaze, and wonder out loud what this is all about. You like the vibe and close your eyes, forgetting all worries for a few minutes. Michigan’s Bahbiss Cobb are back with an EDM single to help us alleviate current life stress on ‘Feeling Loopy‘.

Bahbiss Cobb is the electronic music project of Eric Curry, and this style was made by mistake which makes it even better to listen to. Sometimes you greatest mistakes turn into your greatest wins, life is strange like that sometimes.

The thudding bass bellows through into your earlobes like a sudden thunderbolt as you get into the galaxy-gazing melody of this mysterious wonderland of a fantastically flavored juicy song. The concept is quite awe-inspiring as you get lost in the wormhole that has been created for us to enjoy with friends- who appreciate electronic sounds of splendor.

Feeling Loopy‘ is that song to get a bit weird to, to explore the mind and stare at the stars to and dance all night with. Alongside good friends, speakers alert and ready for the incredible busty beat that traps you in and won’t let go. Michigan’s Bahbiss Cobb found this style while making other types of music and for that, we are truly blessed. Music is all about creating your own lane, not following anyone else’s.

Turn off your worries via this song on Bandcamp and find out more about this electric act on Facebook.

This is live looped Rock and Roll Rap, Oscar Mic releases ‘Get Yours‘ and trust us, this is a song like no other in the world.

Oscar Mic is Seamus Hayes in real life and is a one man band with plenty to offer the world with his charm, different music and stage appeal. This is the type of artist that is best consumed live on stage.

Oscar Mic shows his showmanship on the new ‘Get Yours‘ music video which was created during lockdown  with the help of his girlfriend director Dovile Meilute. He is a character like no other and this shows vividly here on the latest release from the one man band. This is a funny video, with striking visuals, lots of stage presence and lyrics that make you think.

Edgar Weltens or as he is known in the music game- Aka Wave– is a Dutch music producer and performer based in the stunning sea-soaked South of Spain in Europe. This former bboy is a Hip Hop culture fan, sound design and ambient soundscape lover.

After lots of practice and working out what style of music he wanted play, he decided to go for a technique called Live Looping. This style has worked and organic live experiences is what Aka Wave creates.

Synthwave sounds and deep bass loops merge together in the new track by Yilgoren Music titled Move In

Out of the album Mentality, synthwave sounds and deep bass loops merge together in the new track by Yilgoren Music titled Move In.

Coming in at only 2:02, this instrumental track shapes on waves and pulsing sounds accompanied by fast tapping slow beats glued together in a modern new-wave outcome. A DJ production that deserves all due respect for staying within a defined soundline without overwhelming the atmosphere with deep electronic boosts while still being able to deliver a placid vibe.

As you can hear in more of the artist’s efforts throughout the album, Yilgoren Music produces chill atmospheres that range from cheerful to weighty but still maintains a controlled combination of sounds.
