4 Minutes Later – This is London: A Pop Punk Attack of the Capital

This is London is the debut single from up and coming rock outfit 4 Minutes Later. I’ll admit it, I was stumped by it. Listening to a catchy intellectual narrative about the disparity of living in England’s capital being versed by archetypally American Pop Punk style vocals kind of threw me. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy the anthemic twist on classic odes to how odious the streets of London can be, it may be a million miles away from London’s Burning by the Clash but 4 Minutes Later certainly have their own unique edge which makes a raucously inviting hit. Instrumentally the guitar-driven progression to This is London was absolutely flawless and I can’t help but applaud the powerhouse’s approach to their debut single.
