East Coast Hip Hop got hotter with the release of Vior’s track “Stevie Wonder”

The Coatesville, PA artist has amassed plenty of hype for their ability to bring more than sound to the airwaves since releasing their debut single in 2018.

The conviction in Stevie Wonder practically makes the track a kiss with a fist. It’s viscerally hard-hitting. but soulfully sweet all the same.

With their clear Rap style and their mischievously hedonistic bars sitting seamlessly with the high-octane rhythmically arrestive beats, Vior offers the best of East Coast Hip Hop. We have no doubt that it’s only a matter of time before they achieve what they set out to do and put their name on the map.

Ajaxx Jordyn – Address It Rejaxx featuring Kayo Ken Baka

It’s getting harder and harder for Trap artists to make an impression on the airwaves. Yet, Ajaxx Jordyn’s blazing track Address It Rejaxx is leagues apart from the rest. Not through a fancy, polished production but for the high-vibes which the playfully gritty mix implants as you listen to the charismatic progressions run through.

Ajaxx Jordyn borrowed the Freddy Krueger nursery rhyme and implanted plenty of salacious ingenuity into it with their hedonistically mischievous lyrics. When you hit play, you’re not left with much of a choice in whether you get hooked in, the rhythmic grooves will leave you arrested before the first verse. If that isn’t the sign of a prodigal producer, I don’t really know what is.

Aeropryme – Closer: Bass-Driven Retro Wave

The fact that dancefloors are inaccessible right now got a whole lot sadder after we heard the colossal new drop “Closer” from up and coming artist Aeropryme.

The entrancingly bass-driven feat of retro wave threw us right back to the time when Pendulum was dominating the airwaves, while simultaneously unravelling as an ecstasy-dripping treat for any fans of the Human League.

Yet, you’ve never heard anything quite like Closer, with pops of 80s nostalgia, a progressive nature from start to finish and the masterful production skills of Pandora Nightz, it’s an unforgettable mix that you’ll want to give repeat attention to.

Tazforte has set the airwaves ablaze with their latest drop “What I Seen At First”

Straight off the bat, Atlanta-based up and coming Hip Hop trailblazer Tazforte’s latest single “What I Seen At First” leaves you utterly transfixed.

Blazing Rock solos are usually found as tracks start to move towards the outro but Tazforte utilises them around steady Trap beats to introduce his fire new drop which never drops its momentum.

The high-energy mix may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but any fans of unapologetically authentic electrifying EDM Hip Hop will find a playlist staple when they hit play. It’s visceral, it’s convictive and it’s a sign that Tazforte is definitely one to watch.

QL waxes lyrical in their latest Hip Hop call to arms “Chasing Stars”

‘Chasing Stars’ is the newest release from Hip Hop artist QL, a new name coming out of the Vancouver music scene, featuring vocals from Marietta Prod and produced by Anno Domini. From their debut album ‘HearAfter’, ‘Chasing Stars’ is both a call to arms and statement of intent, the rolling piano part and Prod’s vocal carrying the melody behind QL’s self-deprecating rap and beats.

Sure, there’s an obvious Eminem comparison to QL’s lyrics and delivery, and overall there’s a subtle Black Eyed Peas vibe to the track, but neither of those observations is intended as a criticism, more an indication of the strength of the track; this is great, lyrical hip hop that really does deserve a listen. And then several more.

Electronica artist and producer soundslikeLANG has made their 2020 debut with the chill-inducingly stunning single “Hold Tight”.

The past few months have been a bumpy ride for us all, Hold Tight offers a smooth tranquillity to sink into and soak up the stylistic soul which is authentic and sincere enough to fill your own. You practically owe it to yourself to hit play.

After you’re suitably entranced by the deftly reverb-laden instrumentals, the echoed vocals are fed into the indulgently accordant mix to feed us the mantra “Hold Tight” along with timely sparse drippings of vocal optimism.

Quincy Valentine drops new track and music video for “Like You Do”

A native of the Bronx, New York, Quincy Valentine grew up with music influences left, right and centre, from his pianist mother to local rappers and the church.

He’s produced and played keyboard for local and major artists such as Mr Complex, and Scarface. Now, Valentine is here, unleashing his soulful take on RnB, a flashy, summery upbeat number with Valentine’s cool rapped vocal a mix of old school boom bap with a more flowing, lyrical style. All hooked up with duetted chorus vocals from Bronx stable-mate singer/songwriter/producer Winston Ward. ‘Like You Do’ is slick, sexy, and it grooves with some proper old-school sass.

Elta Wave has dropped her eccentrically electric Dance Pop mix “Dance Floor Dance “

It’s sultry, it’s retro, it’s euphoric, it’s Elta Wave’s eccentrically electric 5th single “Dance Floor Dance”.

Finding distinction within a Dance Pop track may be harder than finding a needle in a haystack, but you can’t help but be hooked in by Elta Wave’s magnetic personality in the danceable high-vibe hit. I should probably warn you now that the melody will stick to your synapses like superglue.

There are nuanced textures of Funk and Disco weaved into the contemporary mix which kicks off and concludes by throwing playful polyphonic notes your way. You’re instantly given the affirmation that Dance Floor Dance is an accessible from the first hit mix.

There’s no understating the commercial potential in Elta Wave’s sound. You’ll have to hear the infectious rhythms for yourselves.

Yung Casper – Toxic: A Sucker Punch of Alt Hip Hop Ingenuity

Yung Casper brought an elemental amount of energy to their standout Alt EDM Hip Hop track Toxic. The sonically-paced single is the perfect introduction to the up and coming artist’s sound which takes influence from the likes of Eminem. Yet, before the first verse in the short and sweet track has run through you’ll be sucker-punched by Yung Casper’s authenticity.

‘Toxic’ seems to be a word which gets bound around a lot with little thought recently, Yung Casper’s wittily relentlessly rapid Rap bars will invite you to explore the context of one of 2020’s most prolific buzzwords.

The bass-driven beats provide the perfect platform for Yung Casper’s almost hypnotic lyrical fire which comes complete with a tongue-in-cheek attitude. We’ll definitely never forget it.

Alt Hip Hop artist Mr?E has made their genre-mashing debut with the album “Guardian”

Breaking artist Mr?E has dropped their genre-mashing debut album Guardian. While each track was as lyrically transfixing as the last, the best introduction to Mr?E’s soulfully eclectic sound is “My Guardian”

My Guardian kicks off with a slight 80s Synthpop vibe before nuances of RnB and Hip Hop start to weave into the consistently progressive mix. You’ll even find elements of Indie with the rhythmically soul-restoring release.

If Eminem started creating wholesomely inspirational tracks, I have a feeling that it would turn out a little like My Guardian. Mr?E Rap bars share a similar perfectly-metered quickfire style which makes it all too easy for the meaning in the lyrics to resonate. Hip Hop debuts don’t often come as promising as this. Do yourselves a favour and hit play.
